An Introduction from our Minister
Joy Langford

The village of Epworth in Lincolnshire was the birthplace of John Wesley and Charles Wesley. It has given its name to many institutions associated with Methodism including our church here on Blackbird Road in Leicester. The name it bears celebrates its roots in Methodism and the present members continue the tradition of accepting Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour and trying to express that in their lives. Methodists have always been clear that no-one is beyond the reach of God's love. Salvation is there for everyone who turns to God, and not just for a chosen few. As Christians we believe Jesus preached the Gospel - the good news of the Kingdom of God. Through Jesus' death on the cross, and his resurrection, we believe that God has broken the power of all that is evil, in the world and in ourselves. If we accept forgiveness and liberation, and are willing to be open to the Holy Spirit, God can enable us to resist evil and to live life to the full.

The pages of this web site introduce you to some of the activities that the church runs to serve the community and bring the good news of hope and love in the name of Jesus Christ. I hope you will find it helpful and informative.
